Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing or using the Circle Unchained browser extension (the "Extension") or the circleunchained.app website (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

2. What Circle Unchained Is

Circle Unchained is an independent, third-party Chrome extension that helps users create personal, offline backups of media and documents that they already have authorized access to inside their own Circle.so communities and embedded providers (Loom, Tella, Vimeo, Wistia, YouTube). It is a user-agent tool that operates entirely from your browser using your existing logged-in session.

3. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Extension for lawful personal or internal business use. You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Extension without written permission.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Extension to:

• Access or download content you are not authorized to view;
• Circumvent paywalls, DRM, or technical access controls beyond what the host platforms already grant your account;
• Infringe the copyright or other rights of community owners, instructors, or third parties;
• Republish, resell or commercially exploit downloaded content without the rights holder's permission;
• Violate the terms of service of Circle.so or any embedded video provider in a manner that exposes you or us to liability.

You are solely responsible for how you use the Extension and for the content you download. You represent that you have the legal right to retain and use any content you download.

5. License Keys & Payments

Some features may require a paid license. License keys are issued per user and may not be shared. Fraudulent chargebacks, key sharing, or resale will result in immediate revocation without refund.

6. No Affiliation Disclaimer

Circle Unchained is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Circle.so, Circle Co., Loom, Inc., Tella, Vimeo, Inc., Wistia, Inc., YouTube, LLC, or Google, LLC. All product names, logos and brands are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension and Site are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Extension will work with any particular site, video, or codec.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Circle Unchained and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost data, lost profits, or claims by any rights holders, arising out of your use of the Extension. Total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Circle Unchained, its operators and contributors from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Extension or your violation of these Terms or of any third party's rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your license at any time if you breach these Terms. You may stop using and uninstall the Extension at any time.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
